Water in the house right now? Do this first.

Then call us — (570) 555-0142
  • 1

Shut the water off at the main.If the source is plumbing, stopping the supply is the single most useful thing you can do.

  • 2

Kill power to the affected area at the breaker— only if you can reach the panel while dry and standing on dry ground.

  • 3

Get valuables and photos up off the floor.Anything you can lift and carry, move it somewhere dry.

  • 4

Take pictures of everything first. Before you move a thing. Your carrier will want them, and so will we.

  • Don’t walk into standing water in a room with live outlets or appliances.Water and electricity is the one thing worth waiting on us for.

  • Don’t vacuum standing water with a household vacuum, and don’t start tearing out drywall.Wait until it’s documented — pulling it early can hurt your claim.

What we handle

Four kinds of loss, one crew, and the rebuild after.

Grouped by what happened. We do the mitigation and the reconstruction in-house — so you aren’t handed a gutted room and told to go find a second contractor.

For the researching visitor

Not sure what to do? Walk through what happens next.

This isn’t a price tool — no honest company can put a number on a loss before the wet materials are opened up and measured. It’s a plain-language walkthrough of your situation.

If water is coming in right now, don’t fill anything out — call (570) 555-0142. This is for when you have a minute to think.

The “what happens next” walkthrough

You tell it a few things about what happened. It gives you back a plain response plan — how fast a crew can reach you, what the first 24 hours look like, whether a loss like yours is typically covered, and a short “what to do right now, and what not to touch” list. No dollar figure, no obligation, no lead-form runaround.

Question 1 of 3

What happened?

Not a price. Never a price sight-unseen.

How claims actually work

We deal with your insurance company. Including telling you when not to file.

Most people’s real fear after “is my house ruined” is “am I about to spend six weeks fighting a claim.” You’re not — that part is our job.

We document the loss the way an adjuster needs it

Moisture readings, photographs, a written scope, and daily drying logs — then we bill your carrier directly. You pay your deductible, not an invoice.

We’ll tell you honestly if it isn’t worth filing

A small, clean-water loss caught in the first hour might be a few hundred dollars and no claim at all. Filing a small claim can cost you more in premium than it pays out. We’ll say so.

No pressure, in writing

We don’t ask you to sign a blanket work authorisation while you’re standing in water. You get a written scope before any demolition begins, we put in writing what we are and aren’t doing — and you choose your contractor, not your insurance company, whatever they suggest.

What a homeowners policy usually does — and doesn’t — cover
Sudden & accidental waterA burst pipe, an overflow, a failed appliance — the sudden kind is typically covered.
Fire and smoke damageAlmost always covered, including smoke that travelled through the framing.
Sewer backupOften needs a specific rider. Worth checking your declarations page.
Groundwater seepage & surface floodingUsually excluded — that’s a separate flood policy. The line is sudden vs. gradual.

This is general guidance, not a coverage determination — your policy is the final word, and we’re glad to help you read it.

Why ABC

We work to a standard — and we can show you where your loss sits on it.

Restoration has real, published classifications. Knowing yours tells you a lot about what the job takes and whether it’s a claim. Here’s the same scale we work to.

On the road within the hour

Trucks staged in the valley. Water compounds by the hour — response time is the outcome.

Real person, any hour

Not a franchise dispatch. Local number, local crew, 18 years in these towns.

IICRC-certified

Certified technicians working to the industry’s water, drying, and mold standards.

Daily moisture logs

You get copies. Meter readings on the same wall each day until it hits dry standard.

One company, start to finish

Mitigation through full reconstruction in-house. No second contractor to hunt down.

Family-owned & local

Licensed and insured. The owner’s name is on the truck, and he lives here too.

Water damage — IICRC categoriesTap one to locate your situation
Usually covered

Category 1 · Clean water. A supply line, a burst pipe, an overflowing tub — water from a sanitary source. Caught early, this is the most straightforward loss to dry, and often the least costly. If it sat for a day or two it can degrade to the next category.

Drying classes — how much material is wetClass 1 (least) → Class 4 (most)
Class 1
A small area, little porous material. Fast dry.
Class 2
A whole room — carpet, cushion, some wicking up walls.
Class 3
Water from above; ceilings, walls and insulation saturated.
Class 4
Trapped water in plaster, hardwood, masonry — needs specialty drying.

The first 24 hours

What actually happens, step by step.

  1. Hour 0

    You call, we dispatch

A real person picks up, gets your address and what’s happening, and talks you through anything urgent while a crew heads out.

  2. Within 1 hr

On site — stop the source, assess

We stop water at the source if it’s still running, check for electrical and structural hazards, and read the affected materials with a meter.

  3. Hours 1–4

    Document, then extract

Photos, moisture map, and a written scope come first — then standing water comes out. Nothing gets torn out before it’s documented for your claim.

  4. End of day 1

    Drying equipment set

Air movers and a dehumidifier placed to pull moisture out of structure and air. We show you what’s running and why.

  5. Days 2–4

    Daily readings to dry standard

We come back and read the same points each day, adjust equipment, and give you copies. When the numbers hit standard, drying is done and any rebuild begins.

Days 2–4 · the same points, read daily

What people say

Neighbours we’ve helped through a bad day.

They answered at two in the morning and had a crew at the house before sunrise. Walked us through what to touch and what to leave. Calm the whole way through, which is exactly what we needed.

— Homeowner, Kingston

What sold me was them telling me a small claim probably wasn’t worth filing. They fixed it for a flat cost and I kept my premium where it was. Didn’t expect that kind of honesty.

— Homeowner, Scranton

They handled the whole insurance side and did the rebuild too, so I was never chasing two companies. Got copies of the drying logs every day. The kitchen looks better than before the leak.
